Dr Padmanabha Shenoy after completing his MBBS from the University of Kerala with 10 gold medals joined the prestigious JIPMER Pondicherry and completed MD in internal medicine with 4 gold medals. Subsequently he finished DM in clinical immunology and rheumatology from SGPGI Lucknow. During his tenure, he was chosen the best resident award of the institute. For his innovative work in scleroderma he was awarded plenary lecture at American college of rheumatology, the first Indian to get the honour in 72 years history of American college. Following this he returned to Kerala and founded the first academic department of rheumatology at Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Kochi.
After heading the department for 5 years he founded CARE in 2014. For his contributions in the field of Rheumatology he was awarded young rheumatologist oration by the Indian rheumatology association in 2018.
His research interests are scleroderma, palindromic rheumatism, cost effective treatment of rheumatic diseases and evidence based practice of alternative systems of medicines. He has many publications in reputed medical journals including New England journal of medicine.
